“This is my December,
This is me alone,
And I just wish that I didn't feel
Like there was something I missed
And I take back all the things I said…” [Linkin Park]
Collective Soul – December [1995]
The inspiration for the song was the tension within the band and between Ed Roland [who wrote it] and their manager. The song is called "December" because that's the last month of the year and Roland wanted to signify an ending, but wanted something more poetic and abstract than "The End" or "Finale." Counting Crows - A Long December [1996]
A bittersweet ballad from “Recovering The Satellites”, the band’s second album
Linkin Park -
My December [2000]
With its somber tones, it remains one of the band’s most gentle songs. It was written by guitarist-singer Mike Shinoda who said it was about being on the road and missing home.
