Tusesday's For Covers # 06 : The Snake

The first time I heard “The Snake”, was many years ago, in a record shop while I was searching for rock songs to make a cassette compilation, like we used to do those days. I asked for the record and saw it was Al Wilson’s “Searching For The Dolphins”.

For some years I thought it was the original, until I read that Al Wilson released the song as a single in 1968, on Johnny Rivers' Soul City Records, who had released his own version of the song on his 1966 album  “...And I Know You Wanna Dance”

Then I checked Al Wilson’s album credits and realized that “The Snake” was an Oscar Brown Jr. original from his 1963 LP “Tells It Like It Is!”.

For the end enjoy a remix of “The Snake” made by Senior Citizens, a Greek production duet who specialize in diggin’ old samples from the 50’s, 60’s & 70s and givin’ them a new breath of life which they call "Adult Oriented Soul"!
