“Sick” and “Tired” are the two words that express my feelings every time I hear the politicians talking about better days, as well as two-faced people trying to be accepted as friends, hiding their real intentions.
“Sick and Tired” is the title of the song for this Tuesday of cover songs.
Written by Dave Bartholomew and Chris Kenner, the song was released first by Chris Kenner in June 1957 and one year later Fats Domino’s version became a hit.
Here are the first and some more versions of the song:
Chris Kenner [1957]
Alex Chilton [1995]
Boz Scaggs [1997]
Cyril Neville [2000]
Grateful Dead [2005]
Reaching the end and before you say: enough I feel sick and tired, here is the song, the true original song, that has been adapted by Dave Bartholomew and Chris Kenner, who changed its lyrics as well. The song is “Oh! Red”, written by Joe McCoy and first released by the Harlem Hamfats, in June 1936.
